Società Legnami Paganoni uses wood from properly managed forests, complying with the strictest environmental standards. Wood is ecological and is the only material that regenerates naturally. The use of wood has a lower environmental impact than other types of material and, throughout its life cycle, a tree absorbs tons of carbon dioxide.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international non-profit organisation whose members – environmental and social groups, indigenous communities, forest owners, technicians, certification bodies, industries that process and market wood-based products – work to improve the management of forests and plantations all over the world, upholding and promoting sustainable development principles.
Independent certification and FSC labelling allow the identification of wood-based product as originating from forests that are managed correctly and responsibly, in compliance with strict environmental, social and economic standards.
Certification is carried out by competent certification bodies which are assessed, accredited and audited by the FSC.
FSC-certified products are available upon request.
Fitok Certification guarantees the quality and safety of shipments to foreign countries and ensures that the timber used for packaging is free from contamination.
PEFC, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, is a certification system for sustainable forest management at national and regional level. Those who participate in the development of this programme are representatives of the owners of forests and poplar plantations, end consumers, users, freelance professionals, operators in the timber industry and in the woodworking sector.
The main goal of this programme is to improve the image of the forestry industry and the forest-timber supply chain, providing a de facto market tool that allows the marketing of wood, parquet and forestry products from sustainably managed forests and plantations.
The PEFC system makes it possible to certify:
